New Ridden Classes at 2010 Royal Winter Fair

A special thank-you is extended to MSRC Painting and Property Maintenance ~ Matthew, Jennifer and Izabella Caldwell, for their sponsorship of the 2010 Welsh Pleasure Under-Saddle classes and to Shirley and Terry Cane for their sponsorship of the Championship Saddle class. 

Note that for ALL RIDDEN CLASSES, the pony:rider combination must have been entered and exhibited at any two high-point Ontario Welsh shows, to be eligible for entry at the Royal Winter Fair.

Entries in ridden classes are limited to 12 entries.  The owner or registered leasee, must be a member of the Ontario Welsh Pony and Cob Association of Ontario. 

For 2010, a new "Walk-Trot" class has been added for riders 10 years of age or under, as of December 31, 2010. 

In addition, the Purebred Welsh Pleasure Under Saddle class has been split into two separate classes, with one for ponies 12.2hh and under and one for purebred ponies over 12.2h in height.

A Welsh Pleasure Under Saddle Championship class has also been added for purebred Welsh.  This class is open to the champion and reserve ponies from the purebred Welsh pleasure under saddle, 12.2 hh and under and the Welsh pleasure under saddle over 12.2hh classes.

2010 Ontario Equestrian Federation Conference

Taking place on Saturday, October 23rd at Iron Horse Equestrian Complex in Milton, ON, the 2010 OEF Conference is presenting a clinic which is designed to provide participants with four unique perspectives on developing skills and building the partnership between both horse and rider from recognized experts in Dressage, Jumpers, Eventing and Western Pleasure.   The educational clinic is focused on developing the partnership for all levels of performance - a multi-discipline approach featuring recognized experts Jacqueline Brooks, Hyde Moffatt, Peter Gray and Lindsay Grice.

2010 CANADIAN ALL WELSH SHOW - HUGE SUCCESS

The 2010 Canadian All Welsh Show, held at the Orono Fairgrounds on August 1st, saw a significant increase in attendance over recent years.  As always, the driving classes were a highlight.  We would like to thank all of our exhibitors and volunteers for making the 2010 show a successful one.

2010 Annual General Meeting

The 2010 Annual General Meeting of the Welsh Pony and Cob Association of Ontario will be held at the Utica Hall, on Sunday November 28th, beginning at 10:00am.

The Utica Hall is located at 13990 Marsh Hill Rd., Utica Ontario.

There will be a catered hot lunch.  The cost for the lunch is $10 per adult and $6 per child.

RSVP: Jennifer and Matthew Caldwell at 905-982-1536, by November 7th, so the caterer can accommodate everyone.

There will be a raffle table fundraiser.  Please bring a prize to donate.

Perpetual challenge / High-Point trophies should be returned to Medea Rietvelt by November 12th, to accommodate engraving.
